TWS—the group that once said first encounters are always so hard—can now be heard singing about how they became friends and found a shared dream in no time. To mark the release of their second mini album, SUMMER BEAT!—a disc that proves that summer’s better when TWS is together—the boys tell their fandom and BFFs, 42, all about their new songs, and make a few playlist recommendations while they’re at it.

TWS - “If I’m S, Can You Be My N?”
SHINYU: I hope listening to this song gives people the same feeling of elation you’d feel when you’re doing something fun with the people you love. Here’s to discovering more about TWS, where our differences only bring us closer together.

DOHOON: This is a boyhood pop song about why it is that opposites attract. I love the part where me, YOUNGJAE, and KYUNGMIN all sing, “If I’m S, can you be my N?” We’re all S’s, according to our Myers-Briggs types! Thanks for listening!

YOUNGJAE: This song’s all about six boys who recently met and have been spending more and more time together, what they get up to that summer, and the memories they create together. You’re going to love how catchy the melody is and the way it conveys a full story. And make sure you listen closely for the parts where our chemistry really shines.

HANJIN: This song shows the process going from not knowing someone to getting to know them, and frames such a relationship as one of natural attraction. The upbeat melody and lyrics full of thrill and joy are sure to put you in a good mood.

JIHOON: You’ll definitely feel happy while listening to this song thanks to its beautiful melody and lyrics. There’s a lovely part with the phrase, “we are always one,” and when you hear it, it paints a picture in your head of where TWS and 42 have been together and where we’re going.

KYUNGMIN: This is a song about how exciting it could be to find out all the reasons opposites attract, like magnets. I hope you’re really looking forward to it.

TWS - “Fire Confetti”
SHINYU: The genre’s fresh, and listeners will find each and every group member’s ad-libbing electrifying.

DOHOON: This is an all-new genre for us, so we worked really hard before and while recording the vocals, and that made it a great song. I can’t recommend this dynamic song enough!

YOUNGJAE: This song’s got an exciting beat that fits perfectly with our vocals. When you hear it, you’ll feel like you’re out watching fireworks at night with everybody and having a good time.

TWS - “Keep On”
SHINYU: This is a good song to listen to when you really want to feel some powerful emotions. Definitely give it a listen so you can feel the full power of TWS and get a feel for what makes us so charming.

DOHOON: Every line of the song’s so touching, and we worked really hard to capture that while recording it! I hope you like it!

YOUNGJAE: All the songs off the album are great and close to my heart, but this one’s a personal favorite, so I’m going to recommend it here. The beautiful lyrics inspired by TWS’s story are sure to tug at your heartstrings.

HANJIN: This song’s got a warm acoustic guitar and synths, and it paints a picture of people cheering each other up under the beautiful sunset. The warm, tender lyrics compare the speaker and the listener to the Sun and the west. The song serves as a reminder that we have to cherish what we have with one another.

JIHOON: This song’s about being reminded how important someone is to you. No surprise, the TWS members listen to this song all the time, and I hope you all will, too!

KYUNGMIN: This synth-poppy song is all about recognizing how important we are to one another. What makes it so magnetic is how kindhearted the lyrics are.

TWS - “hey! hey!”
HANJIN: With the intense rock guitar and unforgettable drums, this song is the story of us coming together to overcome loneliness and become one. It shows how we put energy, passion, and effort into everything we do when we’re together, and I think you’ll feel stronger when you hear it, too.

JIHOON: This song’s full of emotional moments, and sits especially closer to my heart because I feel so empowered when I sing this with my members.

KYUNGMIN: This song’s about progressing towards a shared dream with your friends. I like this song because, whenever I dance to it, I feel so warm and happy inside.

Leellamarz, Meenoi - “Bus Stop”
SHINYU: I recommend this song for the deep and profound lyrics. You can also tell how much chemistry the two of them have.

G-DRAGON - “Untitled, 2014”
DOHOON: The way G-DRAGON conveys the subtle nuances of the emotions in this song is really moving when you hear it, which is why I’m recommending it.

Choi Yu Ree - “Ocean”
YOUNGJAE: The guitar and the melody it plays are extremely beautiful, and Choi Yu Ree adds her soft, sweet, sincere vocals on top of that. It’s the perfect song to listen to when you need a break.

SEVENTEEN - “_WORLD”
HANJIN: This song has optimistic lyrics and gives you energy whenever you hear it. It’ll make you feel like you can overcome anything and everything if you listen to it when you’re having a hard time.

Jayla Darden - “Reminder”
JIHOON: This is one of the songs I like to listen to when I want to focus slowly on the movements I make with my body while practicing. I recommend it for the amazing beat!
