Bad Bunny’s album DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS, which debuted at number two last week, rose to number one. All four of the albums Bad Bunny has released since 2020 have made it to the top of the chart. This album was released on a Sunday instead of Friday as typical, meaning it only recorded five days’ worth of sales figures for its first week, placing it at number two. For this latest week, it saw a 67% jump in sales, from 122,000 units in its first week to 203,000—notably higher than the average projection of 40% had the album’s first week been two days longer, and even more impressive considering listeners tend to taper off after that.
Breaking it down, 264 million streams constituted the bulk of units or roughly 195,000, giving it a second week atop Top Streaming Albums. Album sales amounted to 7,000 units, placing it at number eight on the Top Album Sales chart. Those 260 million streams are the most of any album since GNX by Kendrick Lamar recorded a whopping 380 million. For context, one of Bad Bunny’s previous albums, Un Verano Sin Ti, holds the record for most streams of a Spanish-language album with 360 million in its debut week, which dropped sharply to 180 million a week later. This is another reason why the impressive figures boasted by DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS in its second week stand out.
Coming in at number two this week was Taylor Swift’s live album Lover (Live From Paris), which returned to the chart following its recent rerelease on vinyl. The album sold 202,000 units, just 1,000 shy of snagging number one. With no way to stream the album, it topped the Top Album Sales chart on the strength of vinyl sales and digital downloads alone, marking Swift’s 15th number one on that chart and surpassing Jay-Z’s record of 14 number-one albums to become the new all-time champ.
161,000 copies of the vinyl were sold after being made exclusively available on her website—the most of any live album so far this decade and among the most of all time. It’s also Swift’s 18th top-10 album overall, and her second live album to reach the upper echelons since 2023’s folklore: the long pond studio sessions.
Overall, the top of the Billboard 200 looked similar to the preceding week. SZA’s album SOS has held steadfast at number three, despite a volatile few weeks for the rest of the chart-toppers, with 102,000 units sold throughout the week.
Kendrick Lamar’s GNX also held steady at number four. At number five was WHAM by Lil Baby, which debuted at number one last week.

Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars’s duet “Die With a Smile” held onto number one for a third consecutive week. Mars has now spent a cumulative 37 weeks at number one, tying Michael Jackson in his solo career for the eighth most weeks in history. Just ahead of them is Beyoncé with 46 weeks at number one. “Smile” was number two in airplay and third in digital sales. After two weeks as the most-streamed song, it dipped to number three. Streaming figures for “Smile” actually rose 4% from last week, but the main reason for the drop in ranking was Bad Bunny.
With a full week of listening and sales to boost his album DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS this week, Bad Bunny made a splash on the Hot 100 and Global 200 charts alike. On the Hot 100, he landed three songs in the top 10: “DtMF” at number two, “BAILE INoLVIDABLE” at number three, and “NUEVAYoL” at number eight. Bad Bunny now has 15 top-10 hits to his name, 13 of which are in Spanish, setting an all-time record for non-English songs by any artist. “DtMF” is number one on the Streaming Songs chart, and the song soared from number 12 on the Global 200 all the way to number one, marking the artist’s fifth song at the top and putting him on equal footing with Taylor Swift as the solo artist with the most number ones there. When including groups, BTS leads the pack with seven. This week, five songs from FOToS made it into the top 10 of the Global 200. Overall, Bad Bunny has had 24 top-10 hits, making him third to Drake’s 35 and Swift’s 33.
ROSÉ and Bruno Mars’ own duet “APT.” held firm at number five for a second week and climbed to number one on the Digital Song Sales chart after being at number two last week. ROSÉ is the first woman in K-pop to top the chart, though her group BLACKPINK previously reached as high as number two with both “How You Like That” and “Ice Cream.”

The backstory behind Taylor Swift’s record-breaking performance on the charts this week with Lover (Live From Paris) runs deep. Without any streaming or CD release, the vinyl and digital album were all that was left to contribute to sales. And the backstory is more intricate than you might expect. Right after Lover was released in 2019, 2,000 lucky fans were selected among those who purchased the album to attend a special City of Lover concert in Paris, often called the City of Love. The concert was meant to be followed by the full Lover Fest tour, but it was scrapped due to the pandemic, making the one-off City of Lover the only concert Swift performed in support of Lover. Swift only returned to performing live in March 2023 when she kicked off her Eras Tour.
The City of Lover concert aired on US TV network ABC in 2020, featuring just eight of Lover’s 16 tracks. These eight songs were also released as digital singles and made available for streaming. They were first put together as an album in 2023, when Swift put a limited edition vinyl up for sale on her website. It peaked at number 58 on the Billboard 200. Reportedly, with the aftereffects of the pandemic still limiting production of vinyl records, only 13,000 copies were pressed, making this edition the single rarest of the singer’s albums.
And then, finally, just a few weeks ago on January 7, the official Taylor Swift website put the vinyl up for sale for a brief 72-hour period—though all copies were sold within the hour. On January 16, the last day contributing to sales figures for the week, digital copies of the album were made available for six hours, meaning the chart reflects sales from a combination of the limited edition vinyls that were shipped out and copies of Lover (Live From Paris) that were purchased in digital. While the album’s tracks are available to stream individually as singles, the full version of the album itself isn’t available on streaming services, meaning streams of the singles in no way impact the album’s performance on the chart. Had the album been streaming ready, it would’ve likely overtaken Bad Bunny for number one with ease.
Still, the significance of Swift’s album goes beyond chart performance or even how rare it is. From a tour canceled due to the pandemic to the historic Eras Tour and the resurgence of the once-overlooked Lover and its hit “Cruel Summer,” Lover (Live From Paris) holds a special meaning in the hearts of the singer and her fans—even amidst a whirlwind of new and rerecorded albums and the runaway success of Eras. In a way, the album became Lover Fest all by itself.
The ROSÉ and Bruno Mars single “APT.” is holding strong at number five on the Hot 100 in its 13th week on the chart. It’s number nine on Streaming Songs, number one on Digital Song Sales, and number 11 on Radio Songs. With the steady increase in airplay, the ceiling on how high it can reach on the Hot 100 remains to be seen. ROSÉ’s album rosie is at number 17 for a sixth week on the Billboard 200, making it the longest any solo female K-pop artist has ever charted. It’s also the highest release by any K-pop artist has ever charted in its sixth week. The album is also number 19 on the Top Streaming Albums and number 11 on the Top Album Sales charts. ROSÉ, meanwhile, is number 25 on the Artist 100.
Jimin’s album MUSE is now spending its 26th week on the Billboard 200, currently at number 119—the longest any solo K-pop artist has spent on the chart. Jimin’s single “Who” has spent 25 weeks on the Hot 100, where it’s currently at number 41. It’s also number 29 on Streaming Songs and returns to the Digital Song Sales chart at number 23. The BTS member makes a reappearance on the Artist 100 at number 69.
HOP by Stray Kids is in its fifth week on the Billboard 200, now at number 80, and is number five for album sales. The group is number 32 on the Artist 100.
Over on the Top Album Sales chart, TWICE’s 14th mini album, STRATEGY, is number 12, ROMANCE: UNTOLD by ENHYPEN is number 14, and the ATEEZ EP GOLDEN HOUR: Part 2 is number 46.
ILLIT remains on the Emerging Artists chart at number 26.
