HAHYUN became known for her attention-grabbing choreographies under the name Luna Hyun, and she’s now putting her skills to use as part of ILLIT’s team. Below she tells us about some songs she’s sure will get you moving.

“Magnetic” (ILLIT)
HAHYUN: The first time I heard this song, I thought it would be a perfect match for the ILLIT members because it’s so cute and full of energy. Seeing as it was their debut song, I remember spending a lot of time thinking about how to create a performance that properly captures each of their images. If you watch the dance along with the song, you won’t believe how “super attractive” it all is—how adorable the girls are and how memorable the choreography is.

“Cherish (My Love)” (ILLIT)
HAHYUN: This is the lead single off their second mini album and I feel like not only are their vocals richer but so is everything else from their stage presence to their dancing. When I first heard it, I felt like it shows off ILLIT’s unique flavor of being kind of melancholy but also cute at the same time. I worked really hard to make sure it would preserve what already made ILLIT so appealing while introducing even more variety at the same time.

“Tick-Tack” (ILLIT)
HAHYUN: What an adorable, catchy song. You can say “that’s so ILLIT!” and be 100% sure of it. Even when I was first working on the dance moves, I wanted to be sure the people watching it would enjoy it and feel energized by it. I can still remember how fun it was when the group members were practicing it.

“Cross That Line” (Tinashe)
HAHYUN: Tinashe’s one of my favorite artists. This song’s from her album Quantum Baby. The funky rhythm and Tinashe’s captivating voice make me want to get up and dance.

“Dancing In The Flames” (The Weeknd)
HAHYUN: What more is there to say about this song? I feel like it only shows even more of his musical range. It’s great to listen to anytime, but I strongly recommend listening to it when the weather’s great and you’re out for a drive!

“Broken” (Milena)
HAHYUN: I always love finding new R&B songs. I only found out about this artist recently but the vibes on all her albums are amazing. This song’s got that fresh, urban R&B flavor with a trendy kick.

“luther” (Kendrick Lamar, SZA)
HAHYUN: GNX, the album this song’s from, is absolutely full of hits. The reason I chose this one out of all of them is because it’s a collab with SZA, who I love. Kendrick Lamar and SZA always sound amazing together!
