When LE SSERAFIM talks about “hot girls in love”, it’s not about being cool—it’s about a passion so hot, it could set you ablaze. For their fifth mini album, HOT, the group sings about love for the first time, painting both the duality of fire and images of rebirth into one picture—one that ends with love as a certainty, even when it could reduce you to ashes. HOT has everything from lyrics written by the group members themselves to sizzling choreography across an entire spectrum of genres. Read on to hear more from the girls on their new songs and other recommendations that set their hearts ablaze.

“HOT” (LE SSERAFIM)
KIM CHAEWON: This song’s always going to be great to listen to, but it’s even more exciting to watch with the choreo.
SAKURA: We’re always trying to give people a look at a different side of ourselves with each comeback, but this time feels really, really different. Both our music and our dances are more mature this time around, and I really hope you’ll like it!
HUH YUNJIN: If I had to sum up the message of the album, I’d say it’s about a love that can even reignite an extinguished heart.
KAZUHA: This is a new genre for us, so it might take a little getting used to, but in some ways, it feels like the most LE SSERAFIM-esque single there is. All five of us throw ourselves completely into love, and while what you get in the end’s important, I think the memories and the process itself are even more so. I hope people can feel our “HOT” attitude come through with this track. And I hope it inspires courage in everyone who listens to it.
HONG EUNCHAE: This song’s perfect for every occasion. I really love how the message is about giving it your all and not having any regrets, no matter how things turn out.

“Ash” (LE SSERAFIM)
KIM CHAEWON: I can’t wait to perform this song live. It’s such an immersive, cool track. I think it really brings out the flavor of our vocals.
SAKURA: This one’s my favorite song! I just love the lyrics and the whole vibe, and I can’t wait to perform it live. I really like the airy vocals, too. Every time I hear it, I feel like I’m starring in an anime.
HUH YUNJIN: This song talks about the moment between when a phoenix dies and when it’s reborn. If you listen to it while lying down with your eyes closed, you might really feel like there’s angels flying around the ceiling and a cool breeze blowing by.
KAZUHA: The vibe of the song’s hard to describe, and that’s what makes it so captivating. Make sure to keep an ear out for the part with the high notes. That’s the best part!
HONG EUNCHAE: This is a sweeping, powerful song, and our falsetto singing is especially amazing. It gets you dancing without realizing it.

“Born Fire” (LE SSERAFIM)
KIM CHAEWON: When I heard people look forward to our intros, I was so proud, and I personally think this one’s completely new and different. I love it.
SAKURA: This intro song is exactly the kind of song I like—a classy beat with a classic twist! And with lyrics in three different languages again, it really feels like a uniquely LE SSERAFIM song.
HUH YUNJIN: This song’s gloomy, making it a perfect fit for this Year of the Blue Snake. Somehow it feels like a wizard with a staff could just suddenly appear, don’t you think?
KAZUHA: Out of all the intro songs we’ve done, this one’s my favorite! It’s got a real vibe to it and that signature LE SSERAFIM intro confidence boosting power.
HONG EUNCHAE: This song was in the trailer, and it captures the message and image behind the new album better than anything else.

“Come Over” (LE SSERAFIM)
KIM CHAEWON: This one’s my favorite. It’s so upbeat that I want to dance as soon as I hear it, and it’s just oozing charm with that vintage sound!
SAKURA: It’s such an honor to have worked with the famous British band Jungle on such an amazing song. The choreo’s also has a ton of super cool and really fun parts, so I hope you like it. I’ve always liked this kind of song, but I never imagined LE SSERAFIM being able to pull it off. Now I’m absolutely in love with it.
HUH YUNJIN: We made this track with Jungle. When you hear it, your mind will just go blank and all you’ll want to do is dance.
KAZUHA: This is such an upbeat song! If you’re looking to make things exciting, just listen to this song! You’ll be moving in no time!
HONG EUNCHAE: The catchy melody and vintage vibe of this song make it incredibly charming. It really gives our vocals a chance to shine.

“So Cynical (Badum)” (LE SSERAFIM)
KIM CHAEWON: This song is a cute, bold expression of love. I’m especially fond of it because I wrote some of the lyrics.
SAKURA: Hearing this song will make you feel like you’re in a game, since it’s a collab with Overwatch 2. It’s such a cute and lovely track.
HUH YUNJIN: FEARNOT’s never heard lyrics like this from us before. I think they’re going to like it.
KAZUHA: The lyrics to this song are sweet and cute. I also really love it on a personal level, and I hope you’ll all listen to it lots, too.
HONG EUNCHAE: This cute love song is also exciting for me since CHAEWON, YUNJIN, and I helped write the lyrics. It’s a really approachable song, and that catchy chorus is the real highlight.

“I’ll Never Love Again” (Lady Gaga)
KIM CHAEWON: This song’s from the A Star Is Born soundtrack, which is one of my absolute favorites. Listening to it makes me think of the movie, so I listen to it all the time.

“Fujin” (Vaundy)
SAKURA: This was on the soundtrack to my favorite drama from last year, so I’ve probably listened to it 100 times now. I really like Vaundy’s whole vibe and his fictional universe. It was my favorite song last year.

“Elephant” (070 Shake)
HUH YUNJIN: I absolutely love 070 Shake. The sound and style of her voice is so captivating, and I’m so drawn in by her unique vibe that I listen to her all the time. The way the music video for this song mixes classic dance styles like contemporary dance and ballet with alternative music is just stunning. I can’t recommend enough that you watch it when you listen.

“TV” (MICO)
KAZUHA: This song’ll get stuck in your head after a single listen. The lyrics are so encouraging and uplifting that I just have to recommend it.

“Changes” (Lauv)
HONG EUNCHAE: The lyrics in this song are really touching for me every time I hear it, the way they talk about how everything’s going to work out fine. And I just love how emotional Lauv’s vocals are. I think about this one all the time.
