The week’s “Billboard” 200 saw continued competition among the top albums as no major new releases threatened the upper ranks. The sales gap among the No. 1, 2, and 3 albums was less than 5,000 units, causing the chart to be published over a day late.

No. 1 was “GNX” by Kendrick Lamar. It climbed back from No. 3 for its third week overall at the top. Weekly sales totaled 90,500 units. 100 million streams accounted for 73,000 of those units, and the album held onto No. 3 on the Top Streaming Albums chart. Actual sales reached 16,000 units, hitting No. 2 on Top Album Sales.

PARTYNEXTDOOR and Drake’s collaborative album “$ome $exy $ongs 4 U” stayed at No. 2 with 90,000 units, just 500 short of taking the top spot. The album topped the Top Streaming Albums chart for a third week. “So Close To What” by Tate McRae fell to No. 3 with 87,000 units, down from No. 1 last week. While the Top 3 albums all saw their sales dip, “GNX” experienced the least dramatic drop, likely leading it to take No. 1. Its sales declined 15% compared to the previous week, while “$ome $exy $ongs 4 U” dropped 24% and “So Close To What” saw a steep 51% decline.

No. 4, 5, and 6 all held steady—that’s SZA’s album “SOS,” Sabrina Carpenter’s “Short n’ Sweet,” and “DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS” by Bad Bunny. Coming in at No. 7 was “Alter Ego” by LISA, the only album to debut in this week’s Top 10. “Alter Ego” garnered 45,000 units in weekly sales. 28,000 of those units came from album sales, putting it at No. 1 on the Top Album Sales chart. Streams topped 23.1 million, or 16,000 units, landing the album at No. 31 on Top Streaming Albums. As the album rolled out over the weekend, LISA performed a much-watched medley of James Bond theme songs with Doja Cat and RAYE at the Oscars. The trio previously recorded “Born Again,” one of the singles for her album and which previously peaked at No. 68 on the Hot 100.

Kendrick Lamar and SZA’s duet “luther” held onto No. 1 for a third consecutive week. Lamar has previously accomplished the same with “Not Like Us” and “Like That.” If “luther” remains at the top next week, it’ll become his longest-running No. 1 hit. The song is also currently No. 1 on Streaming Songs, plus No. 3 in radio and No. 8 in digital sales.

The Top 9 of the chart stayed exactly the same as the previous week. Among them was Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars’ own duet “Die With a Smile,” which remained at No. 2. It’s also been No. 1 on the Radio Songs chart for five weeks. Next week’s chart will factor in Gaga’s recently released album, “MAYHEM.” “Die With a Smile,” featured on the album, is expected to see a boost in streams, too. With her stronghold on the airwaves thrown in, could Gaga be about to challenge Lamar’s post-Super Bowl halftime show reign?

Lamar’s songs “Not Like Us” and “tv off” were No. 3 and No. 4, respectively, giving him three songs in the Top 5. The rapper’s already had five weeks since December where he’s had at least three songs in the Top 5. This ties him with for third with Justin Bieber. Drake has done it six times, and the Beatles lead with eight. As for completely dominating the Top 5, Lamar, Drake, and the Beatles have each done it once, while Taylor Swift stands alone in having done so twice.

“Billboard” will hold the 2025 edition of Women in Music on March 29. First launched in 2007, the event celebrates the contributions of women in the industry. K-pop is represented as well, with aespa expected to receive Group of the Year and JENNIE the Global Force award. As for Woman of the Year, that honor belongs to Doechii. She previously took home the Rising Star award in 2023. Only Lady Gaga (2009 and 2015) and Ariana Grande (2014 and 2018) have previously won both the Rising Star and Woman of the Year titles. Both of their debut albums made waves when released, and they proved themselves further with two or three career-defining albums afterward. Doechii has reached this milestone in just two years, transitioning from rising star to being up for the main award. In between were her mixtape “Alligator Bites Never Heal” and a Grammy win for Best Rap Album. She’s only the third woman to win in the category, along with Lauryn Hill in 1997 and Cardi B in 2019.

This week, Doechii charted two songs on the Hot 100: “DENIAL IS A RIVER,” which peaked at No. 21 and moved slightly to No. 22, and “ANXIETY,” a Sleepy Hallow song she features on, debuted at No. 45. Doechii first uploaded a song titled “Anxiety” to YouTube in 2019, then Sleepy Hallow sampled it earlier this year and gave the artist credit. The original went viral as a result, prompting Doechii to officially release her solo version on March 5. In just two days of streaming, the song was already at No. 3 on Bubbling Under Hot 100. At this point, it seems all but certain it’ll make its way onto the Hot 100 next week. The song’s resurgence highlights one of the avenues for artists who enjoy quick rises to popularity to end up with new hits in the streaming era.

Doechii has slowly built up a reputation for herself among rap fans over the years, but her rise to a prominent place in the mainstream is much more recent. Take her mixtape “Alligator Bites Never Heal,” which is just now starting to crack the Top 10 on various radio charts. It’s currently No. 9 on Rap Airplay and No. 15 on R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay. People just discovering Doechii now are beginning to dive into her back catalog.

Her old mixtapes and singles aren’t just part of her personal history—they’re ongoing assets. Just like how Chappell Roan’s single “Pink Pony Club” received renewed attention post-Grammys, Doechii’s discography is converting into popularity, although in her case, she’s getting started on the crest of an even higher wave. “DENIAL IS A RIVER” could become her first Top 10 hit. And if not just yet, the demand for her next single and next album will surely make it only a matter of time.

ROSÉ and Bruno Mars’ single “APT.” celebrates its 20th week on the Hot 100, currently at No. 6. It’s also No. 9 on Streaming Songs, No. 6 on Digital Song Sales, and No. 5 on Radio Songs. On the Global Excl. US, it’s No. 1 for a 17th week, extending its own reign and the all-time chart record. ROSÉ’s album “rosie” is No. 41 in its 13th week on the “Billboard” 200. This marks the highest position a K-pop album has ever sat at in its 13th week on the chart. It’s also No. 49 on the Top Streaming Albums chart. The BLACKPINK member is No. 36 on the Artist 100.

Jimin’s single “Who” is in its 32nd week on the Hot 100, at No. 41. This ties it with his group BTS’s song “Dynamite” as the longest-charting K-pop song on the chart. “Who” is also No. 26 on Streaming Songs. Jimin’s album “MUSE” is in its 33rd week on the “Billboard” 200, now at No. 154. It continues to hold the record for the longest-charting K-pop album by an individual. The BTS member is No. 81 on the Artist 100.

“Alter Ego” by LISA debuts at No. 7 on the “Billboard” 200, No. 1 on Top Album Sales, and No. 31 on Top Streaming Albums. This marks the second Top 10 solo album from a BLACKPINK member following ROSÉ’s “rosie.” LISA, Doja Cat, and RAYE’s collaborative single “Born Again” returns to the Hot 100 at No. 96. “FXCK UP THE WORLD” by LISA and featuring Future debuts at No. 6 on Bubbling Under Hot 100 and No. 24 on Digital Song Sales. LISA herself returns to the Artist 100, now at No. 8, her highest position to date.

“HOP” by Stray Kids is No. 157 on the “Billboard” 200, now in its 12th week. It’s also No. 7 on Top Album Sales. The group is No. 34 on the Artist 100.

On Top Album Sales, ENHYPEN’s “ROMANCE: UNTOLD” is No. 21 and TWICE’s 14th mini album, “STRATEGY,” is No. 40.

Over on the Emerging Artist chart, MINNIE debuts at No. 16, JENNIE is No. 23, and ILLIT is No. 42.

Finally, on the Global 200, LISA and Future’s “FXCK UP THE WORLD” debuts at No. 25. Here’s a wider look at how K-pop’s doing on the chart:
