CHUU’s first studio album explores love connected through digital signals on the boundary between the real and virtual world. From the portrayal of hearts filling a tiny rectangular screen in “XO, My Cyberlove” to the last track “Loving You!,” the album’s seamlessly interwoven collection of songs spanning countless genres pushes the limits of CHUU’s musical vision. Read on to hear more about the new emotion-packed songs she sings, plus a selection of songs she’d love to listen to with KKOTI.

“XO, My Cyberlove” (CHUU)
CHUU: This is a pop song with a dreamy analog vibe. AI’s become such a commonplace part of our lives now, right? Try listening to this song and imagining what it’d be like if you were AI and suddenly felt something called love. Not only will it help bring the lyrics alive, but you might get sort of a sad love story vibe out of it, too. I hope the song’s a chance to rethink what love really is in our digital age.

“Canary” (CHUU)
CHUU: What I pictured while singing this song was how it’d feel if a delicate little canary tried to protect someone by singing for them. It has this unshakable faith in, solace toward, and patience for someone who’s been hurt before. I could even feel the emotion welling up inside me while singing it. I’m really attached to this one.

“Cocktail Dress” (CHUU)
CHUU: I had so much fun with this one, right from the start of recording. What makes it so memorable for me is how effortless it was to give it those wonderful mid-to-low vocals that I love so much, and how I could just relax and sing it in a way that was very “me.” Give it a listen when you’re looking for a change of pace!

“Limoncello” (CHUU)
CHUU: This song is as tangy and bubbly as the title suggests. When I sang it, I was picturing that feeling you sometimes get where you’re all excited and there’s  a spring in your step for no special reason. I want listeners to get a boost of energy and feel refreshed just from listening to it.

“Heart Tea Bag” (CHUU)
CHUU: When you’re full of desire and feeling uncertain, just one drop from “Heart Tea Bag” and you should start feeling all warm and cozy inside. The song’s all about taking all your bottled-up emotions and letting them slowly be released, like steeping tea. And like having a quiet cup of tea, it’s perfect for being alone with your thoughts at the end of the day.

“Loving You!” (CHUU)
CHUU: This song means a lot to me since I first revealed it at a fan concert. It’s overflowing with energy and fun from start to finish, and the way it just keeps building so dynamically is amazing. I can still vividly recall the butterflies in my stomach when I shared this song right in front of my fans for the first time. Those memories come flooding back to me every time I hear the song, and it warms my heart.

“Dear Name” (IU)
CHUU: I come back to this song whenever I’m feeling small and searching for some solace. It feels like someone’s calling out to me and telling me everything’s going to be okay.

“Love Love Love” feat. Yoong Jin of Casker (Epik High)
CHUU: I listened to this song over and over when I was little, and I’ve been listening to it again lately. The memories of that time naturally come flowing back to me, so it’s especially nice to put on when I’m driving.

“HYPNOTIZE” (XG)
CHUU:
I ended up listening to this song while looking up choreography videos. It’s just so trendy and I love the way it sounds. I can’t stop listening to it.
