It’s a new chapter for LE SSERAFIM as they move beyond being fearless and acknowledge that it’s knowing fear that’s made them stronger. What they describe with “PUREFLOW” is a true resilience that’s not about denying fear but relying on one another, owning it, and taking on the world hand in hand. Read on for the fivesome’s thoughts on “‘PUREFLOW’ pt.1,” their most honest record to date, plus some song recommendations for FEARNOT to dig into.

“BOOMPALA” (LE SSERAFIM)
KIM CHAEWON: When you find yourself overthinking or exhausted, just “BOOMPALA.” Nothing’s forever, so there’s nothing to fear. Put “BOOMPALA” on and have a great day!

SAKURA: “BOOMPALA” is the lead single off our new album and it’s about how nothing lasts forever, so the fear you’re feeling might just be an illusion. I hope you get good vibes from it, just saying the magic word, “BOOMPALA,” and then have a great time together!

HUH YUNJIN: If you’re stuck in a boring routine and craving something different, just “BOOMPALA.”

KAZUHA: “BOOMPALA” is my favorite single ever. When you feel flustered, like your head’s stuffed with too many thoughts, just listen to this song. It’ll get you hyped and take that weight off your shoulders. You gooooootta listen, FEARNOT!

HONG EUNCHAE: This song samples “Macarena.” Everybody knows it. So you can just let loose and have fun. Let “BOOMPALA” send all your worries flying.

“CELEBRATION” (LE SSERAFIM)
KIM CHAEWON: You don’t need a reason to celebrate, just make your own. Whether you have something to celebrate or just want to have fun, give this song a listen!

SAKURA: This is our own little way of celebrating how we went from being strong because we’re fearless to being even stronger thanks to knowing more about fear. My favorite part’s the line that says “Fearless 2.0.” It reaffirms what we’re all about but also shows how far we’ve come, so I’ve got a real soft spot for it. I absolutely can’t wait to perform this in concert.

HUH YUNJIN: If you haven’t really done anything but want to spend some time celebrating anyway, it’s time for “CELEBRATION.”

KAZUHA: When you want to get hyped, put on “CELEBRATION”! On your way to work? Need an energy boost? A confidence boost? It’s got you covered. LE SSERAFIM’s here to celebrate everything about you!

HONG EUNCHAE: This is an EDM song that’s so exciting you might even go crazy, and the message is pure LE SSERAFIM.

“Creatures” (LE SSERAFIM)
KAZUHA: One listen and you’ll already be singing along to this song. It’s a high-energy, get-you-screaming kind of song, so I recommend listening to it when you need to blow off some steam! Have fun singing it with friends and family!

“iffy iffy” (LE SSERAFIM)
KAZUHA: This would be a good song to put on while driving around. It’s upbeat and just instantly puts you in a good mood! Of all our new songs, I’ve been listening to this one a lot in particular.

HONG EUNCHAE: I put a lot of work into writing the lyrics for this one. It’s got this really cute, upbeat, energetic feel that’s just perfect for the weather lately. The message is great too. Love yourself in all your different forms.

“Need Your Company” (LE SSERAFIM)
HUH YUNJIN: Who comes to mind when you think of the phrase “need your company”? Well, send this song to that person. Or just listen by yourself and think of them.

“Sonder” (LE SSERAFIM)
KIM CHAEWON: I love this song so much, I’ve probably listened to it more than anything else. It fits every kind of mood. Make sure to listen closely to the lyrics, too!

“Saki” feat. Aliyah’s Interlude (LE SSERAFIM)
SAKURA: This one’s a sister song to “1-800-hot-n-fun.” In that song, they’re asking, “Where the heck is SAKI?” Now it’s moved onto a party, and the question of “Who the heck’s Saki?” becomes this rumor spreading like wildfire. It’s really fun. The beat’s exciting, and I love that I got to try a lot of new things while recording it.

HUH YUNJIN: Isn’t this so LE SSERAFIM? No matter what anyone says, “I am that girl.”

“Irony” (LE SSERAFIM)
SAKURA: This is another song where I got so hyped recording it that I was like, “We have to perform this live no matter what!” Haha. Personally, this feels like a very LE SSERAFIM song to me. I’d love to perform this in concert and have everybody just dancing all excited!

HONG EUNCHAE: This is a fast track where the energy never dips. The beat’s exciting, and you get to hear a new singing style from all of us. You’re going to start dancing without even realizing it.

“Trust Exercise” (LE SSERAFIM)
KIM CHAEWON: I helped write this song. It’s a cute, honest take on personal relationships. Great for a drive or just laying back and taking it easy.

“Nice To Each Other” (Olivia Dean)
KIM CHAEWON: I’m a huge fan of Olivia Dean’s music. This song makes me so happy every time I hear it.

“Answer” (Lilas)
SAKURA: I’m actually practicing this one in vocal lessons right now, and the lyrics are genuinely moving. You could be working hard late into the night or on your way to work in the morning and Lilas’ voice will always give you strength.

“REDRED” (CORTIS)
HUH YUNJIN: I’m a little “old c’ c’” for this, but I like going “yellowyellow blueblue” when I’m listening to this song.

“A story that will turn into a poem” (Shin Ji Hoon)
KAZUHA: I keep coming back to this one for her voice and the lyrics. I really recommend using headphones for this one.

“ACAI” (CORTIS)
HONG EUNCHAE:
We saw CORTIS perform a lot while promoting our new album on music shows, and this one’s right up my alley. I also like acai bowls, too. It’s really just the right song for the weather lately.

KIM CHAEWON's recommendation: D.O. - “Popcorn”
SAKURA's recommendation: IU - “Knees”
HUH YUNJIN's recommendation: ILLIT - “It’s Me”
KAZUHA's recommendation: GIVÈON - “DIAMONDS FOR YOUR PAIN”
HONG EUNCHAE's recommendation: Kehlani - “You Got It”
