Olivia Rodrigo’s third album, “you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love,” debuted with record-breaking numbers on the charts dated the fourth week of June. With sales hitting 485,000 units in its first week, the album marks the singer's best numbers yet and the biggest week for a solo artist this year. A month earlier, Drake’s album “ICEMAN” debuted with 463,000 units. If you include groups, though, BTS still holds the top spot thanks to “ARIRANG,” with 641,000 units.

“pretty sad” sold 273,000 copies during the week, which marked the biggest sales week of the year for a female artist and also put Rodrigo at No. 1 on the Top Album Sales chart. Vinyl alone accounted for 164,000 copies. Streaming added 211,000 units, based off 218.4 million streams, which in itself is the biggest streaming week of 2026 for a female artist, putting her album at No. 1 in streaming as well.

Rodrigo now has three No. 1 albums, following her 2021 debut, “SOUR,” and 2023’s “GUTS.” All 13 songs off the new album entered the Top 30 of the Hot 100, ranging from “stupid song” at No. 3 to “cigarette smoke” at No. 27.
Excluding the prerelease singles “drop dead” and “the cure,” 11 of those were new entries. Rodrigo was already the only artist where every song off their first two albums made it into the Top 40, and now she’s taken that distinction even further. She also placed 10 songs in the Top 20, breaking another of her personal records and making her the fifth artist to occupy at least half of the Top 20, following Drake, Taylor Swift, 21 Savage, and Kendrick Lamar.

Lastly, “stupid song,” the single released alongside the album, debuted at No. 1 on both the Global 200 and Global Excl. US charts. It’s Rodrigo’s fifth No. 1 on the Global 200, tying her with Bad Bunny for third most behind BTS with eight and Swift with seven. She also has her name on six of the Top 10.

Taylor Swift’s single “I Knew It, I Knew You” from the “Toy Story 5” soundtrack debuted at No. 1 on the Hot 100 in the third week of June and stayed there the following week. It’s Swift’s 15th No. 1, breaking her tie with Drake and Rihanna and putting her alone in third place for most Hot 100 No. 1s. The Beatles lead with 20, followed by Mariah Carey with 19.

Looking only at 2020 onward, Swift leads with 10 No. 1s, ahead of Drake and Ariana Grande with eight each. That’s already comparable to Carey’s 14 No. 1s across all of the 1990s—and there’s still more than three years to go before closing out the decade. Swift’s debuted more songs at No. 1 than any other female artist, surpassing Grande and coming behind only Drake’s all-time record of 10.

“I Knew It, I Knew You” is only the third song from a Disney animated film to hit No. 1, after “A Whole New World” from “Aladdin” in 1993 and “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” from “Encanto” in 2022. It’s also the first from a Pixar film.

The song marks Swift’s return to country music, and it also debuted at No. 1 on the Hot Country Songs chart, her 10th chart-topper there. Swift moved into pop starting with her 2014 album “1989.” Setting aside the rerecording she did in 2021 with “Taylor’s Version,” this is her first entirely new country song since “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” in 2012. Even so, she’s now one of just six artists to send a double-digit number of songs to No. 1 on Hot Country Songs. Among women, she and Carrie Underwood share the record. (As for men, Luke Bryan and Morgan Wallen have 12 each, Blake Shelton has 11, and Kenny Chesney has 10.)

Looking at other charts for its debut week, “I Knew It” is Swift’s 11th No. 1 on Streaming Songs, her 32nd to top digital sales, and also debuted at No. 7 in airplay. Since the current methodology for calculating airplay was introduced in December 1998, only five other songs have ever debuted in the Top 10 (Janet Jackson’s “All For You” debuted at No. 9 in 2001, Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way” at No. 6 in 2011, Adele’s “Easy On Me” at No. 4 in 2021, Rihanna’s “Lift Me Up” at No. 6 in 2022, and Swift’s own “The Fate of Ophelia” at No. 7 last year). Swift’s the only one to have done so twice.

“I Knew It” also debuted at No. 1 on the Global 200 in the third week of June. It’s her seventh No. 1 on the chart, the most of any solo artist. BTS leads the entire pack with eight.

Ariana Grande’s new song “hate that i made you love me” debuted at No. 1 on the Hot 100 in the second week of June. It’s the lead single from her upcoming album, “petal,” coming out July 31. The song was also No. 3 on Streaming Songs, No. 25 on Radio Songs, and No. 1 on Digital Song Sales.

“hate that” is Grande’s 10th No. 1, tying her with Janet Jackson, Bruno Mars, and Stevie Wonder. Only 13 artists have ever reached double digits in No. 1s. Looking at just the window of time from when she scored her first No. 1 with “thank u, next” in 2018 till today, she now leads all artists, even coming ahead of Taylor Swift’s nine. Eight of Grande’s debuted at No. 1, which puts her behind only Drake’s 10 and Swift’s nine there.

Max Martin wrote and produced Grande’s latest hit. It’s his 28th No. 1 as a producer, boasting more than anyone else in the field. As a songwriter, it’s his 30th No. 1, second only to Paul McCartney’s 32. “hate that” also debuted at No. 1 on the Global 200 and the Global Excl. US charts in the second week of June, marking Grande’s fifth and fourth chart-toppers respectively.

Drake’s new album “ICEMAN” spent four straight weeks atop the “Billboard” 200 following its record-breaking debut in the fifth week of May, holding the top spot through the third week of June. “ICEMAN” is the first album to spend its first four weeks at No. 1 since Taylor Swift’s “The Life of a Showgirl.” “Showgirl” dropped in October 2025 and spent a total of 12 weeks at No. 1, including seven consecutive weeks once it first hit the top. Narrowing things to R&B/hip hop, Drake’s album’s the first to do so since Travis Scott put out “UTOPIA” in August 2023.

Drake now has 15 No. 1 albums in total, six of which have held the title for at least two weeks. Only three of those have logged more weeks at No. 1 than “ICEMAN”: 2016’s “Views” (13 weeks), 2018’s “Scorpion” (five weeks), and 2021’s “Certified Lover Boy” (five weeks). Here’s how “ICEMAN” performed week by week:

“Janice STFU” returned to No. 1 on the Hot 100 in the first week of June after debuting there in the fifth week of May. It’s the first of Drake’s songs to spend more than one week at No. 1 since “In My Feelings” in 2018. Of the rapper’s 14 No. 1 songs, six have held the top across multiple weeks. Other than “Janice STFU,” there’s “Work” and “One Dance” from 2016, and “God’s Plan,” “Nice For What” and “In My Feelings,” all from 2018.
