For SECRET NUMBER, music has been a constant companion—there with them as they explore the present and a helpful guide when looking to the future. And now, they want to share it with those closest to them. Returning with their fourth single album, DOOMCHITA, the group is here to tell fans about their all-new, hard-hitting title track off the album as well as some songs that capture the feeling they want to convey to their fans.

“DOOMCHITA” (SECRET NUMBER)
LÉA: When we all listened to this song together, we also found out we would be performing with backup dancers for the very first time. I was really looking forward to it since it was something new we’ve never done before. Some parts were hard and tiring to practice for, but we had fun putting all our effort into it together! I’m excited that the song will show off even more of SECRET NUMBER’s overflowing energy.

DITA: This song made me think of our fans the first time I heard it, interestingly enough. Our fans have been asking us to do a powerful woman, girl crush concept for ages, and I’m both excited and nervous now that we’re finally giving it a shot. I kept worrying, like, Am I going to be able to pull this off? What will old and new fans alike think of it? But getting ready for it with the other members was more like hanging out, so it was actually really fun and exciting! I hope that energy comes across to listeners when they hear “DOOMCHITA,” too.

JINNY: I think the best part of “DOOMCHITA” is probably how catchy it is. After you hear it the second, third or even more times, you’ll be singing “DOOMCHITA DOOMCHITA” without even realizing it. And I think it’ll be all the more memorable with all the unique sound effects (like reversed vocals, autotune, etc. etc.). And just like the the track has a big sound, I think you’ll find our performance even more alluring, too.

MINJI: We’re back with “DOOMCHITA” and another standout performance! Most importantly, like you can tell from the lyrics, the song shows SECRET NUMBER’s mix of high self-esteem and confidence. And, most importantly, whenever I sing, “you couldn’t stop me if you tried,” I get the courage to feel out and deal with all the obstacles and adversity I face all on my own. I hope this song fills you with the get-up-and-go spirit and self-confidence to overcome anything that comes your way every time you hear it!

SOODAM: When I first heard this song and saw the way I was instantly singing along and humming to it, I realized how catchy it was, haha. I guess it’s so energetic that it sticks with you after just one listen. Also, this is the first time we’re showing off this concept. It’s a girl crush angle and a bit dark, which we always wanted to do, so I think they will see a new side of us from it. I really hope you like it, haha.

ZUU: Here we are with “DOOMCHITA,” our first song to feature a girl crush concept! I always wanted to give the concept a try, so I remember being all excited when I first heard the song. I thought a lot about the idea of being the only person like me in the world and trying to add confidence in little ways when learning the choreography and recording the vocals. There’s a lot of motifs from the movie Ocean’s 8 in the music video, so it was really fun to shoot. I think it’s twice as fun watching our performance if you keep an eye out for all the little hidden details while you do!

“hey siri” (salem ilese)

LÉA: I’ve been listening to this song more than anything else lately. When I first heard it, I just liked how lighthearted it sounded, but the lyrics talk about problems that young people face, and it’s all about things anyone could relate to, so that made it even better!

“Celebrity” (IU)

DITA: We face many problems in our lives and times when we don’t know what path to take for the future. That’s exactly when I listen to a song by IU in my music library and find strength in the comfort it gives me. The words, “An autograph written in steps / A drawing sketched in sullen steps / The path to meet you solely / The path along the dotted line,” seem to say that life’s drawn like a dotted line and it’s okay to be sullen and just take life one step at a time. It’s a small thing, but it really cheers me up, so I’m recommending it.

“Permission” (New Hope Club)

JINNY: Sometimes you can be so busy you don’t have a minute to spare, but other times daily life is so repetitive that you don’t even notice how much it’s weighing on you. When I feel trapped in the routine of ordinary life, I listen to this song and then I feel free and easy. The energetic melody in this song is paired with lyrics that say you don’t need anybody else’s permission and you can feel the way you want to feel, and you feel really good when you listen to it.

“Angels Speak” feat. Poo Bear (Justin Bieber)

MINJI: I often listen to this song when I get to the end of the day and I’m all alone with my thoughts. The lyrics like, “Your affection’s miraculous,” and, “You say that no matter what, you’re watching over me,” make me think of our fans and that brings me comfort. If I ever get the chance, I’d like to sing this song with all my heart to the people who love me.

“Girl” (Jess Kent)

SOODAM: I’m really into working out lately, and I feel great when I listen to this song while doing some workout that fits the bouncy, funky tone and trendy beat, and then I can exercise even better, haha. It’ll really get your heart pumping, haha. I hope you check it out, haha.

“breathin” (Ariana Grande)

ZUU: On days when I’m so busy I can barely breathe, or days I feel frustrated, or days I feel depressed, I take a deep breath and listen to “breathin” by Ariana Grande, and then I feel all better.
