Celebrating May 5th Children’s Day, we asked TOMORROW X TOGETHER’s BEOMGYU, ENHYPEN’s JUNGWON, CHERRY BULLET’s JIWON, MIRAE’s SON DONGPYO, woo!ah!’s NANA, HWANG MIN HYUN, LE SSERAFIM’s KIM CHAEWON, STAYC’s SIEUN, CHERRY BULLET’s CHAERIN, OH MY GIRL’s SEUNGHEE, and WEEEKLY’s JIHAN about songs from childhood that made them dream. Wishing everyone with hopes and dreams would keep their childlike innocence forever, here is a list of songs for your Children’s Day playlist along with some photos of artists from when they were little.
“Sk8er Boi” by Avril Lavigne
BEOMGYU of TOMORROW X TOGETHER: I used to be a guitarist in a band in middle school and won top prizes at many competitions with this song. Being in the band made me realize what it’s like to be in front of an audience, and that’s when I decided to have a job of performing in front of a big crowd.
JUNGWON of ENHYPEN: This is a really familiar song that reminds me of my elementary school years. It’s a soundtrack of the animated movie “One Piece” whose lyrics are so good that it could have a positive impact on both children and adults alike, which is why I recommend this song.
“The Tadpole and Frog” by Yoon Hyunjin
JIWON of CHERRY BULLET: I remember chasing tadpoles in the stream when I was really little, each time excitedly singing along to this song!
“Balloons” by TVXQ
SON DONGPYO of MIRAE: This is the first song that comes to my mind on Children’s Day since it reminds me of my innocent childhood days! Just for today, let’s all have “pretty dreams of flying in a balloon”.

NANA of woo!ah!: It’s a song from when I was so little that I could hardly even remember. Still, listening to this song from time to time feels like I’m going back to those early years when I was all pure and happy. I’m sure a lot of those who listen to this old song would feel the same.
“Love In The Ice” by TVXQ
HWANG MIN HYUN: As a child who liked to sing, I watched TVXQ sing “Love In the Ice” on TV and wished I could sing on stage with such passion one day. That’s what motivated me to practice hard and sing eagerly to this day.
“Kissing You” by Girls' Generation
KIM CHAEWON of LE SSERAFIM: When I was little, I looked up to Girls’ Generation and dreamed of becoming a singer, listening to this song whenever I wanted to move toward that dream.
“Tell Me Your Wish (Genie)” by Girls' Generation
SIEUN of STAYC: I used to listen to this song many times in my childhood and dreamed of becoming a singer! I remember watching stage performances and music videos over and over, and practicing the song and dance multiple times to show them in talent shows or on air! I’m sure that Girls’ Generation was everyone’s role model back then, and celebrating this year’s Children’s day, I recommend this song hoping that the Genie who grants people’s wishes would always take a place in kids’ heart.
“Chu~♡” by f(x)
CHAERIN of CHERRY BULLET: I first came to know about this song when in elementary school thanks to my older sister. The song’s incredible and I listened to it alone many times and even danced along!
“Fire” by 2NE1
SEUNGHEE of OH MY GIRL: I remember being captivated by the first sight of the music video of 2NE1’s “Fire” and their performances when I was young. I fell in love with them and checked and watched every single music show at the time, and copied their fashion in dressup games. Frankly, I still look up their performances. It’s really amazing that I keep looking back and recollecting my childhood memories. Do you have any memorable songs that you revisit from time to time?
“Put Your Records On” by Corinne Bailey Rae
JIHAN of WEEEKLY: When I was really young, this song would come out as a ringback tone when I phoned my father! Even to this day, listening to this song feels like I’m calling my father, and those fluffy feelings from my childhood comes back to me. It’s the first pop song I’ve ever heard, so it pops into my head as I look back on my childhood, and listening to it always makes me delighted!
