LIGHTSUM’s back with Honey or Spice, their second mini album, proving they have the confidence to pull off anything—whether that’s being as straightforward as a traffic light or absolutely melting with sweetness. From the tracks the girls helped write to the whole rainbow of different unit songs, the album proves the idols can go from softly sweet to alarmingly spicy—and everywhere in between. 

LIGHTSUM - “Honey or Spice”

SANGAH: This is our single, “Honey or Spice”! It combines everything that makes all the LIGHTSUM members so irresistible. I really hope you love it. :)

CHOWON: This song shows off what makes LIGHTSUM special, whether we’re being sweet or spicy. Don’t be afraid to listen to it as much as you want! Haha.

NAYOUNG: You won’t want to miss a single second of this song, since the vibe keeps changing from intro to ending. The combination of all our voices’ own special characteristics makes this song extra charming. With a chorus this catchy, it’ll definitely get stuck in your head!

HINA: I liked this song from the moment I first heard it! The part where we keep saying, “honey honey honey,” is really unique and catchy. I think you’ll fall deep in love with the song the first time you hear it, too. It’s also a really upbeat song, so I hope lots of people give it a listen and that it fills them with good vibes!

JUHYEON: Of all the singles we’ve done, this one’s my favorite! I really hope people like it. The different ways each of us expresses ourselves make it great to listen to and to watch. ❤️ It’s also fun to look out for all the highlights tucked away here and there.

YUJEONG: This song’s got three things going for it: sweet honey, in-your-face spice, and something profoundly odd in between! It’s so catchy that you’ll keep thinking about the melody and the lyrics over and over once you hear it. And if you listen to it while walking down the street, you’ll get a boost of confidence and feel really cool!

LIGHTSUM - “Not My Style”

YUJEONG: This is the wildest, most energetic song off the whole album! The song’s all about having the confidence to say you don’t care about what other people think, you’re just going to follow your heart. SUMIT should listen to it when they’re looking for a confidence boost.

LIGHTSUM - “Skyline”

NAYOUNG: The music for this song was written by JUHYEON, and SANGAH wrote the lyrics. It’s the perfect song to wrap up your day just before going to bed. It’s a nice and easy song, though, so really, it’s nice to listen to anytime!

HINA: JUHYEON and SANGAH both helped to write this song. It’s nice to listen to in the middle of the night and will help you feel better. I recommend it!

JUHYEON: I helped write this song myself! I really like it now that it’s got all of our vocals in it. It’s even better than the demo version I had been working with. It’ll bring you a sense of comfort to listen to at night, and help you feel refreshed if you listen in the morning. I really hope you give it a listen. :)

YUJEONG: JUHYEON and SANGAH worked on this song together, and it makes me think of a dreamy night. It feels like a kind of confidence that’s always right there with you, silently looking out for you, telling you that it doesn’t matter if you fall down or fall behind, everything will be okay. I love it!

LIGHTSUM - “Whoopie”

SANGAH: I’m recommending this because it’s got a simple melody, uplifting lyrics, and NAYOUNG, HINA, and YUJEONG are really cute in it, too!

CHOWON: This is a great song, with NAYOUNG, HINA, and YUJEONG making it upbeat but comforting in their own special way!

NAYOUNG: This song’s as refreshing and bright as the seaside in summer. It feels like you’re going to the beach if you listen to it while taking a walk or a drive, so give it a listen.

HINA: I’m recommending “Whoopie,” the unit song I did with NAYOUNG and YUJEONG. ☺ The three of us are cute and bubbly in it in a way that none of our singles have been!

YUJEONG: This song is really cute, just like the three of us are. You should listen to it when you want a shot of positivity. You’ll feel all excited and happy if you put it on while out for a driving or working out!

LIGHTSUM - “Light it Up”

SANGAH: This is CHOWON, JUHYEON and my unit song. It’s ablaze with passion, so I recommend you listen to it when you feel worn out and need a pick-me-up!

CHOWON: This song’s got the kind of energetic allure that nobody but the three of us have. You’ll probably fall for our charm after hearing the song and seeing our performance! Don’t forget that! Haha.

LIGHTSUM - “Candle LIGHT”
NAYOUNG: The lyrics to this song are really touching and will make you feel good and fill you with hope. Why not listen to it when you’re having a really hard day?

JUHYEON: This ballad is just piano and vocals, so you get a really good sense of our vocals here. That’s why I’m recommending it. Everyone sings so beautifully! I was really focused on the song while recording it and thought about the meaning behind the lyrics a lot. It actually brought me a lot of comfort, too. Make sure to pay close attention to both the lyrics and the melody when you listen!

MIYEON from (G)I-DLE - “The Painted on the Moonlight”

SANGAH: I listen to this song every day lately. The chill melody and MIYEON’s vocals are really comforting to me, and I think the song’s perfect for when the weather’s getting cold.

DAY6 - “Love me or Leave me”

CHOWON: I love this song so much that I listen to it every day. The band and the lyrics are all amazing, and they make you feel like you’re the star of the song when you hear it. And the vocals and the melody are so good, the more you listen to this song, the more you’ll want to keep listening!

WOODZ - “I hate you”

NAYOUNG: I always love listening to WOODZ! This song in particular has that kind of exciting vibe I’m really into and captures it really well, so I listen to it all the time!

SEVENTEEN - “Lean On Me”

HINA: When I listen to this song on the way home at night, all my fatigue just melts away. I hope your night is nice and relaxed too, SUMIT. ♡

JUNNY - “MOVIE”

JUHYEON: I’ve been listening to this song a lot, especially when I’m out on a walk. It makes you think how both the good times and the bad times all become memories in the end, like a movie.

109 - “You don’t have to be a star”

YUJEONG: When things aren’t going my way and I start to feel tired out, this song brings me a lot of comfort. It’s a really touching song. SUMIT, when you’re having a hard time, I hope this song will bring you some comfort, too!
