Music evokes a variety of thoughts and feelings—energy that makes you want to dance, reflection on memories of the past that float on the breeze, or a sense of calm as you empty your inner self. In all of these emotional experiences, music leaves us with a kind of recovery. DIMENSION: DILEMMA, ENHYPEN’s first studio album, is also filled with sentiments like dynamic energy, the lyricism of love, confident attitude and even confusion. ENHYPEN is back with more zestful energy than ever in their new single “Tamed-Dashed,” and we asked them about their own music as well as other songs that give them comfort.

“Tamed-Dashed” (ENHYPEN)

JUNGWON: The song’s selling point is how it feels brightly energetic and powerful at the same time. And there are several direct phrases here and there in the lyrics, like “summer” and “just dash,” so I think people will be able to easily understand the message we want to convey through the music easily.

JAY: Since this is the first time ENHYPEN has done such a refreshing concept, you’re really able to sense the energy and exhilaration in the song.

HEESEUNG: Now that it’s been about a year since ENHYPEN’s debut, we tried to switch up our sound in “Tamed-Dashed,” our first full album’s lead single. So we put a lot of work into it. I hope you’ll pay attention to DIMENSION: DILEMMA and the single “Tamed-Dashed” and show it a lot of love.

SUNGHOON: I mainly think “Tamed-Dashed” has an energy and a sense of being fresh that immediately makes you want to run, like in the lyrics. And I think ENGENE will like it because it has a brighter sound that’s different from our previous singles.

JAKE: We tried something new with the song, but it’s also the kind of powerful, rhythmic song only ENHYPEN can make. That’s why we have so much fun performing it and I think the listeners will enjoy listening to it, too.

SUNOO: “Tamed-Dashed” is an exciting and refreshing song. I feel like it's the kind of song that changes your mood as soon as you listen to it, whether you’re in need of a pick-me-up or traveling somewhere. I really hope you’ll give it a listen.

NI-KI: I like this song because it shows off a different side to us than what people have seen before. Another good point about it is that it added something fresh to our precise high-impact group dances, so it’s fun to listen to but also fun to watch.

“Go Big or Go Home” (ENHYPEN)

HEESEUNG: Every song on our studio album is good enough to brag about, but “Go Big or Go Home” is a particularly catchy song and a unique take on the house genre. This is the b-side song we’re promoting from ENHYPEN’s first full album, so I hope you enjoy!

JAY: This is a hip hopish house song overflowing with groove and exciting beats. It's a dance song, so the performance looks great and I think you’ll feel better if you listen to it while exercising or doing something active.

SUNGHOON: The song’s charm comes from the performance that matches the fast tempo. I think the highlight is the overwhelmingly confident lyrics that seem to say, “My life is pretty amazing.” I hope everyone who listens to it will have an amazing life full of luck.

SUNOO: This is a really exciting song that lets you show off how excited you feel inside as much as you want. It's an EDM song with elements of disco and house and a dance break in the second half. I recommend it to anyone who wants some excitement in their day.

JUNGWON: Personally, I like the chorus the most because of how exciting it is. The song is written so you can really feel how it keeps rising, so I hope you pay special attention to that part, too.

JAKE: This is my favorite kind of song. It's got a great rhythm and the beat’s fast so I feel good when I listen to it. I think it’s a good song to hum along to.

NI-KI: “Go Big or Go Home” is hip and exciting. (laughs) It's the kind of song where the rhythm grabs hold of you from start to finish.

“12:45 (Stripped)” (Etham)

JUNGWON: Certain songs impress you with their melody alone, and this is that kind of song, I think. It makes me feel better any time I listen to it, so it’s my main feel-good song these days.

“Ginny” (Sylo Nozra)

JAY: This is my feel-good song. It’s brimming with a unique brand of groove and soul and makes you feel like it’s mending your body and mind. If you’ve had a hard day or are in need of some peace of mind, I recommend you try listening to that song!

“Just A Little Bit” (ENHYPEN)

HEESEUNG: This is the first time ENHYPEN’s tried singing a ballad, so I feel a kind of affection for it. It feels even more special because we put a lot of effort into emphasizing the emotional and subtle parts with the vocals. I hope everyone listens so they can hear the emotion in ENHYPEN’s voices!

NI-KI: I want to emphasize how the song captures a new side of ENHYPEN because it’s our first time doing a song in the ballad genre. You’ll get to hear some different emotions and music from us.

“Wish You Would” feat. Quavo (Justin Bieber)

JAKE: It’s my feel-good song lately. It's off Justin Bieber’s most recent studio album and I listen to it a lot because I find the overall feeling of the lyrics and the melody to be touching.

“West Coast Love” (Emotional Oranges)

SUNGHOON: I’ve been listening to that song a lot lately because I like the soft vocals, the melody and the jazz vibe. I’m recommending it because I want to listen to it together with ENGENE!

“Antifreeze” (Yerin Baek)

SUNOO: I feel better when I hear the timbre of Yerin Baek’s voice and the song’s tranquil melody and lyrics. So I end up enjoying the song more and more.
