Introduction

Ninomae Ina'nis

WAH! Hello!! I am Ninomae Ina’nis from hololive English -Myth-! I am a VTuber under hololive production’s English branch. hololive English -Myth- is the first group that debuted within the English branch of the company, and it includes my genmates Mori Calliope, Takanashi Kiara, Gawr Gura, Watson Amelia, and me!

World domINAtion

How do you feel your plans for world domINAtion are going?

I was never really good at dealing with being in the spotlight, so when I debuted I thought to myself, “I’ll be happy if I can slowly (but surely) grow my fan base over time.” I guess it was easier to say that it was world domINAtion! haha Honestly, I feel like it’s been going great! Recently, I had the honor of being a part of hololive’s first world tour, and meeting fans all around the world made me realize how far our influence has reached everyone around the globe.

“Breaking Dimensions”

I feel like there has been a trend(?) lately where I get assigned to sing the first verse of many songs, including some performances from the songs in “Breaking Dimensions” (the live), the song “Breaking Dimensions” itself, and several songs during the world tour performances… If I’m being honest, I get very self-conscious and nervous!! I think hololive has such amazing singers that I’m always shaking when I have to be the first one to sing. I guess going into it I was thinking, “I need to make sure I become a good foundation for everyone that comes in after me!” I think that’s the mindset I have going into other projects as well! Oftentimes there are new opportunities that could lead to the other members also getting opportunities down the line, so I always want to give it my best so that it can open up even more possibilities for other members too!

Art and music

I grew up watching and participating in communities where everyone got together to make stories, music, and art about their favorite characters or songs. Those days were very memorable to me, so I think it was natural for me to try and continue doing that with my own music. I really enjoy it when fans create theories and analyze the art and music in my original content! I think it’s so much more interactive and diverse to have various people creating together. I get great ideas and motivation from the fans as well! It makes me really happy that my art and music can inspire others to create, so I want to keep trying my hardest to make more!

Illustration

I think with my background in illustration, it is definitely much easier to communicate with other creators that I work with. For example, when giving feedback, I like to explain my concepts using rough sketches, and I always have a pretty clear vision of what I would like, so I can communicate more efficiently even with language barriers. As the saying goes, a picture is worth a thousand words! Having a clear purpose for what I’m creating also helps with the direction a lot. For example, for the myth mascots, I wanted something simple but recognizable. It had to be simple enough that anyone would be able to draw it! I am really happy that the mascots were well received by the fans! (If I’m being honest, I didn’t intentionally create the mascots to be used that often, I only really drew them to decorate the tablet asset I was using for my stream. hahaha)

Joke

My favorite one is honestly, “Sleep is for the weak... but I am weak and therefore I shall sleep” haha. Sleep is important! I think to be a better speaker, you have to be a good listener and observer first. There is always a time and place for everything! If you are observant and listen well to conversations around you, you’ll definitely find places where you can hop in and toss around jokes. It takes a bit of getting used to, but being patient is better than accidentally throwing in a joke at the wrong time...!

Choice

What ground rules do you set to make sure you’re ready when opportunity knocks, while also enjoying what you do and not forgetting to be considerate of yourself?

I think I have been, and always will be, searching for the answer to this. You’ll never know when the opportunity of a lifetime will appear in front of you, and you never know if an opportunity will be worth risking things for. I think you have to discipline yourself not to spread yourself too thin between what you “want” to do and what you “need” to do. In the end, I am still struggling to find the right balance as well, but I try to make sure of two things: “Choose a path you won’t regret,” and “whatever you end up doing, do your best.” Not every choice you make in your life will be the most beneficial one, but learning from your choices and moving forward is also important!

Hug

What do hololive English -Myth- and its members mean to you? Also, as you became the first person under hololive English to hug everyone else, what made you so determined to hug them all?

At first, we just met as colleagues at work, but now they’re my inspiration, motivation, partners, and irreplaceable friends. We’ve overcome a lot of hardships together over the years, and I’ve always thought about how I wouldn’t have made it here without them. I am really thankful that I got to meet them in my lifetime! I think to a lot of people, hugs are just a form of greeting, but to me, they’re also a sign of acceptance and acknowledgement. I’ve always doubted myself, and to an extent I still wonder if I really belong here or if everything is just a passing dream. Getting hugs from the people that I hold dear is also a way I am able to tell myself, “It’s okay, you are here and you are welcome here.” It kind of sounds sad now that I write it down, but it’s a happy and comfortable feeling!! haha

Without the other members of hololive English -Myth-, and the staff growing together, we really wouldn’t be where we are today. When the English branch first formed, I think both we—hololive English -Myth-’s members—and the staff did not know what to expect, as it was a pretty untouched field. I am very glad that, despite the difficulties we faced over the years, we were able to grow together as a branch to be where we are today! We may be an inspiration to later generations, but I can also say that our juniors(kouhais) have brought plenty of energy and motivation to us as well! I can’t wait to see what we can create together in the future!
