ATEEZ's GOLDEN HOUR: Part.2 debuted at No. 1. This is their second No. 1 album since THE WORLD EP.FIN: WILL in December of last year. All six of their albums have entered the Top 10 since The World EP.1: Movement in 2022. The weekly sales for GOLDEN HOUR: Part.2 is 184K units, with album sales accounting for 179K units. It ranks first in Top Album Sales and is the sixth best-selling album in the first week of this year. Streams reached 6.43M, which is equivalent to 5K units. They released 23 types of CDs, six types of vinyl, and three types of digital albums.
It is the third K-pop album to top the chart this year. Previously, TWICE's With YOU-th and Stray Kids' ATE reached No. 1 in March and August respectively. There have been a total of 18 No. 1 K-pop albums in history. BTS leads with six since making history with Love Yourself: Tear in 2018, followed by Stray Kids with five. This week, ATEEZ became the third K-pop band to top multiple albums.
Jin's solo project Happy debuted at No. 4. Weekly performance is 77K units, with album sales of 66K units and 10.53M streams, which is equivalent to 8K units. Jin released 13 CD versions and seven digital versions. This is his first time charting the Billboard 200 solo. Now all BTS members have reached the Top 10 on Billboard 200. This took less than two years since RM's Indigo reached No. 3 in December 2022. As a team, BTS has reached the Top 10 seven times since LOVE YOURSELF: Her in 2017.
ENHYPEN's ROMANCE: UNTOLD returned to the Top 10 at No. 7 with the re-release version ROMANCE: UNTOLD -daydream-. Weekly sales increased tenfold to 54K units. Album sales of 51K units moved them from No. 26 to No. 4 in Top Album Sales. The song reached 4.45M streams, which is equivalent to 3K units. They released 12 CD versions and three digital versions. Sales for all versions, including the initial release, are aggregated together. ROMANCE: UNTOLD originally debuted at No. 2 last July.
This week, K-pop albums occupy three positions on the top 10 - 1st, 4th, and 7th positions - simultaneously for the first time in history. This is a new record since August when Stray Kids' ATE and Jimin's MUSE took the 1st and 2nd spots. As of 2024, 97 albums have entered the Top 10 of the Billboard 200, with 17 of those being K-pop albums.
Let’s examine other notable Top 10 albums: Linkin Park's comeback album From Zero, released after 7 years of hiatus, is No. 2 with 97K units. Album sales are 72K units, ranking 2nd in Top Album Sales, with 32.18M streams, or 24K units. Tyler, the Creator's CHROMAKOPIA is No. 3 with 81K units after dominating the chart for the past 4 weeks.
Shaboozey's “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” made new history, reaching its 19th week at No. 1, matching Lil Nas X's record for “Old Town Road.” Its long-running success is largely due to overwhelming radio performance, with 17 consecutive weeks at No. 1 in radio songs, including 16 weeks at No. 1 on the Hot 100. This breaks the 14-week record set by Mariah Carey's “We Belong Together” from 2005, nearly 20 years ago. Of course, the fact that it hasn't left the Top 10 of Digital Song Sales and Streaming Songs since last May, with consistent performance, has been setting it apart from the masses.
Some songs are bound to become sacrificed in chart history. Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars' “Die with a Smile” is the lamb this year. The song was released at the end of August and has been steadily building streaming, music sales, and radio performance to vie for the top spot. Last week, it narrowly missed No. 1, ranking 2nd, and was considered highly likely to prevent Shaboozey's 19th No. 1 this week. However, it settled for 2nd place overall, ranking 2nd in streams, 5th in music sales, and 3rd in radio. On November 20, near the end of this week's chart calculation period, Shaboozey's performance at the Country Music Awards (CMA) likely provided the final push to maintain the No. 1 spot.
So, what happens next week? An unprecedented 20th week at No. 1? Or the long-awaited coronation for Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars after three months? You might want to ask Kendrick Lamar. His surprise new album GNX is sweeping midweek streaming records. Then comes the Christmas carol season. “All I Want for Christmas Is You” has already re-entered the chart at No. 16.
Rosé and Bruno Mars' “APT.” has dominated the Global 200 and Global charts excluding the U.S. for five consecutive weeks since it was released on October 18. Global streaming performance over the past five weeks is as follows:
The debut week's global streams of 220M on November 2 is the second-highest record since the start of the Global 200 chart. The top record is BTS' “Butter” at 290M streams. To date, only five songs have recorded over 200M global streams. The other four songs are BTS' “Butter,” BLACKPINK's “Pink Venom,” Miley Cyrus' “Flowers,” and Jung Kook's “Seven.” “APT.” is the first song to exceed 200M streams for more than two weeks. Looking at 2024 alone, it ranked 1st, 2nd, 4th, 5th, and 6th in global streaming records over the past five weeks. The 3rd place is Taylor Swift's “Fortnight” at 180M streams.
“APT.” is currently at its highest Hot 100 position of 8th and is at 15th this week. This week, it also debuted at 38th on the Radio Songs chart. Rosé released another new song “number one girl” on November 22. She plans to release her solo album rosie on December 6. In other words, this story has only begun.
Jin officially started his solo project with “I'll Be There” on October 25. This song debuted at 25th on the Global 200 and 10th on the Global chart excluding the U.S. on November 9th. Following the album Happy, Running Wild appeared at 5th on the Global 200 and 4th on the Global chart excluding the U.S. for the November 30 chart. This is Jin's second Top 10 entry since “The Astronaut” reached 10th on the Global 200 in 2022. BTS members have placed a total of 13 songs in the Global 200 Top 10 as solo artists. As a team, they've had 11 Top 10 entries, with seven of them reaching No. 1. “Running Wild” also debuted at 53rd on Hot 100.
ATEEZ's Golden Hour: Part.2 (EP) debuted at No. 1 on Billboard 200 and Top Album Sales. ATEEZ re-entered Artist 100 at No. 1.
Jin's Happy (EP) debuted at No. 4 on Billboard 200 and No. 3 on Top Album Sales. Jin re-entered Artist 100 at No. 2. “Running Wild” debuted at 53rd on Hot 100 and 1st on Digital Song Sales. On Digital Song Sales, “Heart on the Window” is 20th, “Another Level” 22nd, “I Will Come to You” 23rd, and “Falling” 25th.
Rosé and Bruno Mars' “APT.” is 15th on Hot 100, 9th on Streaming Songs, and 12th on Digital Song Sales. It debuted at 38th on Radio Songs. Rosé is 91st on Artist 100.
Jimin's Muse is 158th on Billboard 200. “Who” is 45th on Hot 100 and 33rd on Streaming Songs. Jimin is 95th on Artist 100.
ENHYPEN's Romance: Untold is 7th on Billboard 200 and 4th on Top Album Sales. ENHYPEN re-entered Artist 100 at No. 9.
LE SSERAFIM’s STAY: (EP) ranked no. 41 and no. 6 on the Billboard 200 and Top Album Sales charts respectively.
On Top Album Sales, SEVENTEEN's SEVENTEEN 12th Mini Album Spill the Feels (EP) is 20th, and Stray Kids' ATE (EP) is 34th.
KATSEYE's SIS (Soft Is Strong) (EP) is 19th on Heatseekers Albums.
On the Emerging Artist chart, NCT DREAM re-entered at 8th. ILLIT is 13th. Wendy entered for the first time at 43rd.
