Playboi Carti’s album “MUSIC” returned to No. 1 on the chart after just one week away. It spent two weeks at the top then a week at number two before returning to No. 1 again. This past week alone, it sold 64,000 units, marking a 30% drop from the previous week’s 91,000 units. This represents the lowest sales figures for a No. 1 album in quite some time. In fact, it’s the lowest since January 2024, when Morgan Wallen’s album “One Thing At A Time” moved just 61,000 units. Streaming accounted for 96% of “MUSIC” sales, equivalent to 61,000 units from 85 million streams. “MUSIC” has been No. 1 on the Top Streaming Albums chart for four weeks straight.
Last week’s No. 1, Ariana Grande’s “eternal sunshine,” was No. 2 this week, with 56,000 units.
Two albums debuted in this week’s Top 10. First, Elton John and Brandi Carlile’s joint album “Who Believes In Angels?” landed at No. 9. It moved 40,000 units over the week. Album sales accounted for 36,000 of that, putting it at No. 2 on Top Album Sales. 3.5 million streams gave it an additional 2,500 units. This marks John’s 22nd Top 10 album. Starting with when his debut album entered at No. 7 in January 1971, it’s a record 54 years in the making. Of his 22 chart-topping albums, 13 are from the 1970s, three are from the ’90s and 2000s, and six have come out since then. This ties John and Bruce Springsteen for the eighth most Top 10 albums of all time. At the very top of that list is the Rolling Stones, with 38. For Carlile, this is her fourth Top 10 album.
Ethel Cain’s 2022 album “Preacher’s Daughter” debuted at No. 10. The album was initially available only for streaming and digital download, but it received a vinyl release on April 4. Of its 39,000 units for the week, album sales made up 37,000, making it No. 1 on Top Album Sales. It was streamed 2.8 million times, the equivalent of 2,000 units. “Preacher’s Daughter” has been highly praised since it was released back in 2022, amassing over 200 million streams in the meanwhile. Cain’s latest album from earlier this year, “Perverts,” has been similarly well received. Still, to get this kind of response to a three-year-old album, even if this is the first time it’s gone physical, is unbelievable. Cain also entered the Artist 100 for the first time, at No. 4.
The rest of the top of the chart simply swapped places. PARTYNEXTDOOR and Drake’s album “$ome $exy $ongs 4 U” rose from No. 5 to No. 3, SZA’s “SOS” climbed from No. 6 to No. 4, and Morgan Wallen’s “One Thing At A Time” jumped from No. 10 to No. 7.

Kendrick Lamar and SZA’s duet “luther” held onto the top of the Hot 100 for the eighth consecutive week. It’s the first rap song to pull this off since 24kGoldn and iann dior’s single “Mood” in 2020. The next record to look to was set by Roddy Ricch’s song “The Box,” which ruled for 11 weeks. “luther” was No. 3 on Streaming Songs, No. 1 on Radio Songs, and No. 23 on Digital Song Sales. Its streaming figures declined 7% week-over-week, signaling a noticeable downward trend. After spending six weeks at No. 1 on the Streaming Songs chart, it dropped to No. 3. However, it continues to reign supreme on the airwaves, maintaining its hold on radio after overtaking “Die With a Smile” the previous week, and allowing it to retain an edge on the Hot 100 over other, better-streaming hits.
“NOKIA” by Drake continued its rise, moving from No. 7 to No. 3 and then to No. 2 over the course of three weeks. This marks the first time Lamar and Drake have shared the Top 2. “NOKIA” has been performing steadily in all metrics since the music video premiered on March 31. Its streaming numbers increased by 9%, while sales jumped 20%. The song was No. 2 on both the Streaming Songs and Digital Song Sales charts. “NOKIA” also saw a 28% boost on radio, climbing to No. 35 on the Radio Songs chart from No. 44 previously. Drake holds the record for the most Top 2 hits, with 24 songs to date. Of course, acts like the Beatles, Mariah Carey, and Rihanna outperform him for total No. 1s. He does, however, boast the most No. 2 hits.
The reason “NOKIA” didn’t clinch No. 1 in streaming and sales was the explosive debut of BigXthaPlug and Bailey Zimmerman’s single “All The Way,” which debuted on the Hot 100 at No. 4. With 24 million streams, it topped the Streaming Songs chart, and its 8,000 downloads put it at No. 1 on Digital Song Sales, too. This marks BigXthaPlug’s first Top 10 hit. For Zimmerman, it’s his second, following “Rock and A Hard Place” in 2023. A crossover hit, “All The Way” also took No. 1 on Hot Country Songs and No. 3 on Hot Rap Songs.
Alex Warren’s single “Ordinary” jumped from No. 14 to No. 7. It’s his first Top 10 hit. Streaming increased by 9%, going on to surpass 20 million streams and putting it at No. 4 on the Streaming Songs chart. Globally, it held steady at No. 3 on the Global 200.

Miley Cyrus’ new single “End of the World” debuted at No. 52 on the Hot 100 and No. 43 on the Global 200. The song is about a couple planning what to do as the world comes to an end. They spend the money they were saving up for a car to throw a party and travel to Paris as they imagine painting the city like Picasso might’ve done in a dream. When Cyrus decides they should pretend like the world isn’t actually ending, and asks to be held like there’s no tomorrow, she sounds less like half a couple preparing for the end and more like a Siren flaunting her allure in the face of the apocalypse.
If you find this kind of dreamy, enchanting apocalypse captivating, there’s more good news. “End of the World” is the first single off her new album, “Something Beautiful,” slated for release on May 30. Cyrus’ upcoming album is said to be a “visual album” and, according to the singer, is a concept album that aims to “medicate a sick culture through music.” She says the album will be like Pink Floyd’s “The Wall,” which she cites as an influence, “but with a better wardrobe and more glamorous and filled with pop culture.” With this, Cyrus aims for “Something Beautiful” to be a “pop opera” that’s also “a unique visual experience fueled by fantasy.”
Every artist wants to make their latest project sound impressive like that, but rarely do they know exactly what they’re talking about, and put it in a way that helps everyone else understand it, as Cyrus does. And you can be sure that what Cyrus promises, she’ll deliver. Look out for that later this spring.
ROSÉ and Bruno Mars’ duet “APT.” is No. 13 in its 25th week on the Hot 100. It’s No. 17 on Streaming Songs, No. 10 on Digital Song Sales, and No. 11 on Radio Songs. ROSÉ’s album “rosie” marks its 18th week on the “Billboard” 200 at No. 98. The BLACKPINK member is No. 68 on the Artist 100.
ZEROBASEONE’s EP “BLUE PARADISE” debuts at No. 28 on the “Billboard” 200 and No. 3 on Top Album Sales. The group’s No. 16 on the Artist 100 and debuts at No. 1 on Emerging Artists.
The xikers EP “HOUSE OF TRICKY: SPUR” debuts at No. 8 on Top Album Sales. The group returns to the Artist 100 at No. 50 as well as No. 4 on Emerging Artists. It’s their fifth time on the Artist 100.
“HOP” by Stray Kids is No. 15 on Top Album Sales. The group is No. 89 on the Artist 100.
JENNIE’s album “Ruby” comes in at No. 35 on Top Album Sales. The BLACKPINK member is No. 96 on the Artist 100.
LE SSERAFIM’s EP “HOT” is No. 21 on Top Album Sales and ENHYPEN’s “ROMANCE: UNTOLD” at No. 36. JISOO is No. 34 on Emerging Artists.
