Eleven years after he debuted, BAEKHO is starting fresh as a solo artist. We asked the artist about the single “No Rules” from his unstoppable first mini album, Absolute Zero, and about some songs that help him keep the important moments in life close to his heart.

“No Rules” (BAEKHO)

BAEKHO: This song’s about whispers of freedom that exist exclusively between two people living in a noisy city. I wanted to make sure this song wouldn’t be boring when people just listen to the music without watching the performance. I hope people will enjoy just sitting down and listening to the song, too.

“We don’t care no more” feat. June One of Glen Check (BAEKHO)

BAEKHO: This song is about two very different people falling in love and deciding not to care about anything else. This track has that “newtro” feeling that everyone’s talking about lately. I love how dreamy the synthesizer sounds. If you’re going to listen to any of the album tracks, I highly recommend this one.

“Am I the One Who’s Changed, Feeling Things Aren’t the Same” feat. Sik-K (BAEKHO)
BAEKHO: This song’s about a relationship after it’s already changed a lot and the regret you feel when the love’s progressively fading away and you become more and more distant. There’s a sense of loneliness throughout the whole track. It’s a good song to listen to on chilly autumn days. I hope you like it!

“how deep?” (Tai Verdes)

BAEKHO: This is a fun and easy song that I can recommend for its clever lyrics.

“Woke Up in Love” (Kygo, Gryffin, Calum Scott)

BAEKHO: This song’s really dreamy and it’s perfect for the cooler weather we’re having lately. I think it’s a good song to lift up your spirits while taking a drive.

“Only Fan” feat. Cordae (Bazzi)

BAEKHO: I recommend this trendy song for when you want to feel pumped up.

“FIRST HELLO” (Grant Knoche)

BAEKHO: The use of sound in this song’s really bold and really captures the way I feel when I’ve got something heavy on the mind. I hope people have fun getting to know my feelings through music and finding songs like that for their own feelings.

“Deep End” (Dayglow)

BAEKHO: When I hear this song, I feel like I’m the most energetic person in the world. I hope people listen to this song when they’re feeling worn out from the daily grind and it picks them back up again.

“Riptide” (The Chainsmokers)

BAEKHO: Have you seen how the sunsets are getting more colorful now that fall’s coming? I think this would be a good song to listen to with the people close to you after you find a nice place to watch the sunset together. It’ll really bring out that autumn feeling and leave a lasting impression.
