VICTON has jumped through a time portal and come back with their seventh mini album, Chaos, in hand. Ready to reveal the second chapter of their TIME TRILOGY, we asked VICTON for their thoughts on their new single, “Stupid O’clock,” as well as about the music they listen to to pass the time.

“Stupid O’clock” (VICTON)
SeungSik: When I first heard our lead single, I thought we would be able to show some beauty through moderation. And I really liked it. At first I just liked the way the melody stuck with me, then after learning the choreography and shooting the music video, I felt like everything really came together and felt really secure about it. I hope you like it, and please show your support.

Chan: “Stupid O’clock” is the second song in our TIME TRILOGY after “Chronograph” from the first chapter. It’s trendy and the bass really slaps. And ByungChan’s falsetto is a real highlight. I hope you all give it a listen.

SeJun: “Stupid O’clock” captures VICTON’s chaos and confusion. We tried to create a feeling of restraint in the chorus. I hope you watch the choreography while you listen to the song, too.

HanSe: When I first heard this song, it was before the arrangement was complete, so the chorus sounded a little empty and I worried it might not be impactful enough to be a single. I was a little worried the song was a bit mellow for a performance, but I realized we could use it to show our own unique sense of restraint. I hope you love our new song and can feel the beauty of the moderation in it.

ByungChan: When I first heard our lead single, I felt like it was deep and sexy. The point you’ll want to pay attention to most is the falsetto in the chorus. I think it would fit the mood if you listen to it late at night.

SuBin: “Stupid O’clock” is the lead single for the second album in our TIME TRILOGY, which makes it the follow-up to “Chronograph.” I put my heart and soul into filming the music video this time around. I think you’ll like the song even better if you watch the music video along with it.

“Bonnie and Clyde” (VICTON)

SeungSik: I think this song feels refreshing and unreserved. It’s got a unique composition with a melody that spans from very low notes up to much higher ones. Personally, I think it would be good to listen to while you’re out riding your bike.

Chan: With our impressively cool vocals, “Bonnie and Clyde” is just the song to keep you feeling cool and refreshed this summer season. I also thought it would make for a good listen while on vacation when I first heard it.

SeJun: This song places heavy emphasis on its chill vocals. Hopefully you can beat the heat this summer by listening to “Bonnie and Clyde,” even if only a little.

HanSe: When I first heard this song’s title, I was expecting something sort of tough and dark, but it’s actually quite the opposite and upbeat, so I was worried whether the theme of the song and the music itself would match. I can’t say for sure how the fans will feel, but I hope everybody really likes it.

ByungChan: This song feels different from the single—the music is fuller and packs a little more punch. I think you’ll enjoy the song more if you keep the entire feeling of it in mind while you listen.

SuBin: I love how the lyrics to “Bonnie and Clyde” contrast with how upbeat the song sounds. I think the variation you get as the song develops makes it more interesting, and that makes the chorus more engaging.

“GANADARA” feat. IU (Jay Park)

SeungSik: I’m into Jay Park’s song “GANADARA” lately. I think I always end up listening to bright, cheery songs in spring.

“We loved each other” (SeungWoo (VICTON))

Chan: Anytime I listen to, or even write, a song, I think very carefully about what the lyrics are trying to say and what the intention behind them is. Listening to this song as coming from an artist, not just because he’s in our group, the lyrics are fantastic, and I lose track of time listening to it on repeat. There’s something about this song where, the more I listen to it, the more I feel how beautifully it expresses memories of times past. I really recommend it.

“That That” prod. & feat. SUGA of BTS (PSY)

SeJun: I recommend this song because it’s new and it fills me with energy.

“Malibu Nights” (LANY)

HanSe: This is a quiet, emotional song, so it’s a good one to listen to in the quiet of the night. I often listen to it late at night.

“The Image of You (Remains in My Memory)” (SANDEUL)

ByungChan: I feel cooled down and rejuvenated whenever I hear this song, so that’s why I’m recommending it to you. I think it’s especially good for when you’re out for a drive or taking a walk.

“Assumptions” (Kye Russoul)

SuBin: You’ll probably be reminded of Colde’s song “WA-R-R” if you listen to this song and hear some of the sounds in it. It’s interesting how different music can come out of a similar mood. I recommend it.
