“My voice sweeps you away like possessed.” In her last release, KWON EUN BI swept the world in waves of confidence. Now she’s back and headed even deeper with her first single album, The Flash. In the title track bearing the same name, she becomes Persephone, goddess of the underworld, singing about her freedom of choice and finding love as vibrant as the red of a pomegranate. It’s her musical exploration of the end days of a world she has no choice but to embrace and fall deeper into, even while knowing how hard it will be to get back out again.

​“The Flash” (KWON EUN BI)

KWON EUN BI: “The Flash” is a dance-pop song with a motif centered around the mythical figure Persephone. It offers a modern interpretation of the idea of free will and choice, mixing and matching color metaphors: White symbolizes a girl who loves flowers and gardens and a star beloved by all, while black symbolizes a woman who longs to be the queen of the underworld and Nora, the character looking to break free in A Doll’s House. The lyrics take the modern mythology of Persephone consuming the red pomegranate as their base and expresses the feeling of two people falling for each other in the form of a word puzzle where you have to find words and put them together to find the answer. It’s made even better by my signature boldly energetic vocals and dance moves. I hope RUBI pays special attention to the chorus!

KWON EUN BI: This pop rock song is a perfect mix of bouncy rhythm guitar, energetic drums and my bright, uplifting vocals. The lyrics are about the freeing, thrilling feeling of making a break for who-knows-where in the middle of the night to escape the dull repetition of everyday life! I highly recommend listening to it while you’re out driving. :)

KWON EUN BI: I can feel the excitement rising in me whenever I listen to this song. The artist’s voice is unique and so captivating. RUBI, if you’re looking for an energy boost, give this song a listen.

​“Letting Go” (DAY6)

KWON EUN BI: I used to sing this song and practice guitar back in my trainee days. It makes me feel like I’m letting go of the thoughts in my heart one by one, just like the title says. The instruments and vocals in this song work perfect together.

KWON EUN BI: This song really captures the feeling of falling in love well. The talking part in the intro makes the song even more memorable because of how clever it is. If you’re looking to keep your heart aflutter, this is the song for you!

​“Let’s Go See the Stars” (JUKJAE)

KWON EUN BI: This song’s perfect no matter when or where you listen to it: when you’re driving, camping, admiring the night view, taking the bus home from work … Anything. It brings me comfort when I feel stressed or tired. I recommend RUBI listen to this song when they want to feel better.

KWON EUN BI: This is a feel-good song that turns ordinary moments extraordinary. I hope RUBI will listen to this song so they can make a shining memory out of an ordinary day!

KWON EUN BI: The message of this song is that it’s okay to make it all about you sometimes. It sticks with me because it made me feel better since it felt like something I needed to tell myself. The way it expresses its sweet, warm emotions is great. I recommend it.
