Morgan Wallen’s new album, “I’m The Problem,” debuted at No. 1 with record-breaking numbers. It’s his third album to reach the top. 2023’s “One Thing At A Time” spent 19 weeks at No. 1, and 2021’s “Dangerous: The Double Album” spent 10 weeks there. Neither has fallen outside the Top 50 to this day. On the most recent chart, Wallen simultaneously took No. 1, No. 4, and No. 12.
Wallen has spent a total of 30 weeks at No. 1 thanks to these three albums. This puts him on equal footing with Mariah Carey and the Eagles and makes him the 20th artist to rule the chart for at least 30 weeks. If “I’m The Problem” performs as well as his earlier releases, it could add 10 more weeks to his record, potentially challenging Adele’s 40 weeks. Above her are Whitney Houston and the Kingston Trio with 46 weeks each, Michael Jackson with 51 weeks, Garth Brooks with 52 weeks, Elvis Presley with 67 weeks, Taylor Swift with 86 weeks, and the Beatles with a whopping 132 weeks.
Weekly sales of “Problem” totaled 493,000 units, which is the highest of the year so far. No album has performed as well since Taylor Swift’s “The Tortured Poets Department” moved 2.6 million units in May last year. “Problem” was also streamed 460 million times, or 357,000 units. Again, this is the highest streaming figure of the year, easily securing the top spot on the Top Streaming Albums chart. Not surprisingly, it’s the best week in streaming since “TTPD,” which logged 890 million streams. It’s also the second-best streaming week for any country album ever, second only to another of Wallen’s albums, “One Thing At A Time” (490 million). Album sales reached 133,000 copies, taking No. 1 on Top Album Sales. It’s the highest for a country album since “Cowboy Carter” by Beyoncé sold 168,000 copies.
Strong sales of “Problem” are likely due to the fact that the vinyl was made available right out the gate. For comparison, “One Thing At A Time” was only available on vinyl starting from its fourth week. “Problem” sold 51,000 copies on digital, 48,000 on vinyl, and 34,000 on CD. All versions include the same 37 tracks.
Finally, of the 14 albums that have reached No. 1 in 2025, only five—including “I’m The Problem”—have topped both streaming and album sales. The other four are the Weeknd’s “Hurry Up Tomorrow,” Kendrick Lamar’s “GNX,” Lady Gaga’s “MAYHEM,” and “Even In Arcadia” by Sleep Token, which was No. 1 the previous week.

“I’m The Problem” has shaken up the Hot 100 as well. Morgan Wallen had 37 songs on the singles chart for the week—36 of them off the new album. The outlier, “Lies Lies Lies,” originally dropped as the first single back in July and peaked at No. 7, so it didn’t attract as much attention when the album finally released after the fact. But also on the Hot 100 was Wallen’s duet with Post Malone, “I Had Some Help,” which came in at No. 19. “Help” has been on the chart over a year—54 weeks, to be exact—including having spent six weeks at No. 1.
Wallen has taken the record for most songs simultaneously charting on the Hot 100 away from himself. His previous record, 36, came with the release of “One Thing At A Time.” Next in line are Taylor Swift with 32, Playboi Carti with 31, and Drake with 27. Of Wallen’s 37 tracks currently on the Hot 100, 29 are new to the chart. With 105 to date, Wallen is now the 21st artist in history to have reached a triple-digit number of Hot 100 hits. He’s also the first country singer to do so. The top honors, regardless of genre, goes to Drake, with 358 songs.
Wallen swept Nos. 1, 2, and 3 on the chart for the week. This makes him the sixth artist to achieve the feat, joining the Beatles, Taylor Swift, Drake, Kendrick Lamar, and Ariana Grande. He also claimed six spots in the Top 10—the fifth artist to do so following Swift, Drake, Lamar, and 21 Savage. Wallen has now had 18 Top 10 hits, the most of any artist predominantly putting out country songs. When including those tracks that reached the chart before “I’m The Problem” was released, this album has spawned nine Top 10 hits. That’s just shy of the 10 that came off Swift’s “TTPD” and ties Drake for those off “Certified Lover Boy.”
At No. 1 is “What I Want,” featuring Tate McRae. It’s Wallen’s fourth No. 1 hit and McRae’s first. McRae’s previous high was No. 3 in January 2024 with “greedy.” “What I Want” is also No. 1 on Top Streaming Songs, marking Wallen’s fifth and McRae’s first No. 1 on the streaming chart. McRae is now the 29th Canadian artist to reach No. 1 and the seventh among Canadian women.

Teddy Swims’ single “Lose Control” has set a new record for longest time spent on the Hot 100, having now reached its 92nd week. The song debuted at No. 99 on the August 26, 2023 chart and peaked at No. 1 for a week in March last year. The fact that the song steadily climbed for 32 consecutive weeks before hitting No. 1 was highly unusual. The single also enjoyed 63 weeks in the Top 10. Even with the massive success of “I’m The Problem” this week, Swims’ song held strong at No. 11. It’s likely, then, that its record-setting stay on the chart will last even longer.
Following behind “Lose Control” for weeks on the Hot 100 are Glass Animals’ “Heat Waves” (91), the Weeknd’s “Blinding Lights” (90), and Imagine Dragons’ “Radioactive” (87). Meanwhile, Benson Boone’s song “Beautiful Things” continued its own run, currently on its 69th week. Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You,” too, has charted for 71 weeks over its lifetime and will challenge the record in a few years as it adds weeks every holiday season.
It’s true that, with the advent of streaming, songs tend to hang around on the chart longer. And while making it to such a volatile chart as the Hot 100 at all is already an honor, achieving such longevity is an incredible feat in its own. Not all of Swims’ songs have enjoyed similar success, though. For example, “The Door” peaked at No. 24 last October, and “Bad Dreams” hit No. 30 earlier this May.
“Lose Control” has endured thanks to its approach to appeal to the widest possible audience. That can be tacked up to its genre-bending blend of pop, R&B, jazz, and blues. The lyrics, which revolve around addictive relationships, are edgy enough to appeal to younger listeners while staying tasteful for adults. It gives space for the listener’s imagination to run wild without being too overt, which makes a lot of people feel a connection with it. Add on top of that Swims’ timeless charm and soulful vocals, and the song has transcended any kind of one-hit wonder status.
The success of this strategy is reflected in the overwhelming radio airplay the song enjoys. “Lose Control” has topped the general Radio Songs chart as well as genre-specific charts like Pop Airplay, Adult Pop Airplay, Adult R&B Airplay, and Adult Contemporary. To put into perspective how impressive it is to have topped these five radio charts, consider the songs “Lose Control” finds itself in the company of: “Hello” by Adele, “Stay With Me” by Sam Smith, “Happy” by Pharrell Williams, and “All of Me” by John Legend. They’re all era-defining tracks, and “Lose Control” is the first to join this elite group since “Hello” a decade ago.
Jin’s second EP, “Echo,” debuts at No. 3, surpassing last year’s debut EP, “Happy,” which peaked at No. 4. Weekly sales reached 43,000 units, with 35,000 copies sold, placing it at No. 2 on the Top Album Sales chart. The EP has been streamed roughly nine million times, equating to 6,000 units. The single “Don’t Say You Love Me” debuts at No. 90 on the Hot 100 and at No. 1 on Digital Song Sales. The BTS member also returns to the Artist 100 at No. 3, marking his sixth appearance under his own name.
BOYNEXTDOOR’s fourth EP, “No Genre,” debuts at No. 62 on the “Billboard” 200 and No. 3 on the Top Album Sales chart. The group returns to the Artist 100 for a fifth time, now at No. 29. The boys also reclaim No. 1 on Emerging Artists.
ROSÉ and Bruno Mars’ duet “APT.” marks its 32nd week on the Hot 100, coming in at No. 28. It sits at No. 21 on the Radio Songs chart and No. 23 on the Digital Song Sales chart. Meanwhile, ROSÉ’s album “rosie” is in its 24th week on the “Billboard” 200, currently at No. 164. The BLACKPINK member is also No. 84 on the Artist 100.
LISA and Maroon 5’s single “Priceless” debuts at No. 45 on the Radio Songs chart.
P1Harmony’s EP “DUH!” lands at No. 8 on the Top Album Sales chart. The group is No. 65 on the Artist 100.
MEOVV’s EP “MY EYES OPEN VVIDE” debuts at No. 10 on the Top Album Sales chart. The girl group also enters the Artist 100 at No. 69 and debuts at No. 4 on the Emerging Artists chart.
ZEROBASEONE’s EP “BLUE PARADISE” is No. 45 on the Top Album Sales chart and the group is No. 20 on Emerging Artists.
The Stray Kids mixtape “HOP” is No. 24 on the Top Album Sales chart, while KATSEYE is No. 17 on the Emerging Artists chart.
